Hello, I have just purchased the Add-on (Report Builder) and I would like to know if is it possible duplicate a report.
Since I have already set a report with a lot of variable fields, it will be very helpful if it is possible dupllicate it in the same way we do with WP-Datatables.
If not, do you have any tips to reduce the work when we build similars reports?
I am sorry, but I don't quite understand what you're asking here. Can you please explain in a bit more detail?
You can always create a new template by copying the existing one, just name it differently and change the variables in it. So when you create a similar report for another table, you'd just upload the new template.
First of all, sorry for my english, but I will try explain better.
Yes. Really, when we are talking about templates, we always can do copies changing the name and saving it again.
But, in fact, what I am looking for is different. I would like a way to duplicate the "report settings".
For example, I have created a report and it is displayed at the "browser report page".
Then, I would like to add a new one, using the older one as a model. In this case I would just change the source datatable and few variables and I can have an other report, similar (but not equal) the last one.
Well, it is bad because I would like to use the previous settings that I have put in the first report in order to create a new one.
But, I figured out that I can use any variable in front-end, independent where I have defined it.
For example:
In Report Id=1 I defined 3 aditional variables: V1, V2 and V3 and have set a template named: Mydoc1.docx
In Report Id=2 I defined just 1more aditional variable: V4 and have set another template, named: Mydoc2.docx
Then, In front-end, in a specific page, I get all the 4 aditional variables.
When I used the action button to download the Report Id=2, it worked fine, because the template(Mydoc2) has all 4 variables - ${V1}, ${V2}, ${V3} and ${V4}... i.e, it doesn´t matter where I have defined the variables, if I get them from front-end they will be replaced correctly, since the template was configured to receive.
Well, yeah, the Report Builder is working independently of wpDataTables in that manner. Since you already defined what the source table is when you created the report, you can put it on any page, and it'll pull the correct report using it's shortcode.
That's exactly what you need to do - create a few templates you'd use in different situations.

Hello guimonclair.
Thank you for your purchase.

Or do you mean to ask something else?
Best regards.

Oh, OK, guimonclair, understood.
I am sorry to disappoint you, but unfortunately this is not possible with the plugin's built in features.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
Best regards.

I don´t know why, but it´s working fine for me.
