I use wpdatatables. My first problem is, that the yellow button (see screen shot 1) to show or hide columns don`t work. So I have a lot tables (Excel) that works with one database. One time I switch of the view of a column I cannot get back and show again.

Second problem: The tables entries are quiet long. One time I saw a table, where not all columns are shown, but a green button with a + sign appears on the left side of the table. I like this view, because the + sign can open more information on the customer fields. I never see it again or even can reconstruct it. What setting I have to use to get the + sign to show more?. Unfortunately it never appears again - so no screenshot. Please help - Dieter

    Hello Dieter.

    Thank you for your purchase.

For the first issue, I'd kindly ask you to provide me a temporary WP-admin login for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue. We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course we do not provide login data to third party. You can write credentials here just check Private Reply so nobody can see them except us.

As for the + expandable option:

You need to enable Responsiveness under Display tab in table's settings, which will allow collapsing on mobile and tablet devices.

You can then set the default width of tablets in main Settings of wpDataTables to a large number (e.g. 5000), so desktops are also considered as tablets.

That way, you can choose which columns are hidden on front-end and the first column will have a "+" sign which will expand the row when clicked on.

You can read more about this feature in our documentation, and if you take a look at the video at around 1:00 minute mark, you can see what I'm talking about.

If you'd like something else to be done with this page, please let me know.

    Kind Regards,

    Aleksandar Vuković

    Hello again Dieter.

I did manage to log in, but it looks like this is not an admin-level account (see attachment).

Can you please check that, because I cannot do anything with how it is set up now.

    Best regards.

    Hello again Dieter.

After inspecting, I am led to believe that this is a conflict with another plugin, or the theme.

After inspecting the page, I saw this error:

    SyntaxError: Unexpected token .
     /wp-content/plugins/zoom-widget/elements/jquery-ui.css?ver=5.0.3:13

Can you try disabling this plugin and see if the issue is resolved?

I tried disabling bootstrap for wpDataTables, but that didn't solve the issue, so the only other reason why this is happening is a conflict with something else.

    Best regards.

    Hi Aleksandar,

I uninstall the zoom pro and the widget, but no change. I also tried to disable bootstrap, but no change. Please check for another solution. Thanks- Dieter

    Hello again,

on your idea I disbaled one after another. At least I found google maps WD (from Web Dorado) responsible for this. But no problem now. I disable google, change table view and switch back google maps, because I need it. Dieter

  • Dieter Koenig replied

Hello - once more. So I could change all tables after disableing google maps WD and after In enable google again. And I find out the problems with the + sign. I see now on most  tables a simple + sign on the left column - not so nice, but works. On all sides that use a plugin called Tables by supsystic, I have now the green + button (that has no function) plus anopther + sign (with a round frame) Looks better than the simple one and works to show hidden fields. Unfortunately the supsystic tool is important in use. Have a look please: In top menu open SPEZIALITÄTEN, after klick in the middle on picture or text called Kräuter-Tee-Öle. My question is:

What to do to use both of the plugins?
How I can change the + sign in your plugin to look more nice?

    Thanks a lot. Dieter

    Hello again Dieter.

Unfortunately the issues like conflicts with third party plugins or themes are always possible due to the nature of WP, and it might take significant time to investigate and replicate the issue on our side, to be able to find the source of the problem, especially when the plugin or theme is not familiar to us.

So, I don't know if you are going to be able to use both plugins.

Also, the + sign from wpDataTables is coming from ../wp-content/plugins/wp-datatables/assets/img/icons.png file, and I don't believe you can change it to look more nice through CSS, but actually modifying that .png file so the images for the + and - (when expanded) look differently.

You're welcome to play around with this, but I cannot help you any further with it.

    Best regards.

with all my respect - there are problems with almost all other plugin when using on the same side with yours. And it is a problem of your plugin - not of wordpress in global. You need to protect your plugin from influence of others. So functions are not working with google maps, css is not protect, every other plugin change the look of the plugin.... Please close this ticket. I look for new tool. Great plugin, but very bad developing. Sorry Dieter

    Hello again Dieter.

We're sorry to hear you do not want to use the tool after purchase.

Like I already mentioned in the previous reply - we cannot guarantee compatibility with any third-party apps or hardware. We have some users that combine dozens of other plugins with ours without issues, or with some minor issues that are easily fixable. Others, like you, have some plugins that simply cannot be bypassed in order for wpDataTables to work in harmony with those plugins.

Another user already reported an issue with Google Maps WD and it is being investigated. As for the "Data Table Generator by Supsystic", they are using the same DataTable functionalities like us, so that's why they're having compatibility issues.

Unfortunately, this is the nature of WP, and is always possible.

I will forward your comments to our development team, so they can look into it and maybe find a resolution for some future updates of the plugin.

I am sorry I couldn't be of any more help.

    Best regards.
