I've trying to use the WPDataTables plug to present a nicely styled table that is also editable, as with one of Formidable's own views. (like using detaillink or editlink)
Is this possible? Or is the wPDataTables just for pretty views but not a practical way of front-end editing?
I can handle PHP code if you have any examples of how to do this more directly in WP

I am sorry to inform you, but unfortunately tables created from Formidable forms cannot be edited.
This is one of the limitations of Formidable forms, that's listed in our documentation:
We can recommend using Gravity forms Integration for wpDataTables if you want to create a table from forms, and be able to edit that table.
