wpDataTables as CRUD interface

    Hello folks,

I have been using wpData Tables for a few weeks now and I'm enjoying the ease of use and user-friendliness.

I also stumbled across an article which, I believe is from your organisation, on the CRUD interface design:

    https://wpdatatables.com/crud-system-in-wordpress/

This actually brings me to the question: Are there any plans to develop wpdatatables or associated product into a visual CRUD interface designer?

As a matter of fact, your plugin serves as a CRUD interface for tabbed data. The editing part is a bit more cumbersome than in a typical front-end in the table. It's what good old Microsoft Access front end would have referred to as a "continuous form".

What I actually would be looking for in addition, is an interface builder for a "single form", where the underlying data is linked to a MySQL database.

    Any thoughts?

    Hello Dirk.

I am sorry, but I did not quite understand these statements:

What I actually would be looking for in addition, is an interface builder for a "single form", where the underlying data is linked to a MySQL database.

Are there any plans to develop wpdatatables or associated product into a visual CRUD interface designer?

Can you please explain in a bit more detail what it is you're looking for?

    Best regards.

    Kind Regards,

Well. In short: A CRUD interface designer.

In (a little) longer: a database front-end builder for forms that allow to display, edit (!), add and delete data from custom MySQL databases (or other sources for that matter.

    These typically come:

    •  in tabular form (very similar to what wpdatatables can do -- very well in my view. ) for several records at a time
    • in 'single record' form, where data can be more comfortably entered and edited for one record. This is something, I haven't found a good solution for, but I was thinking that wpdatatables+ could very well have that functionality. The pop-up forms used for "new records" and "click-editing" are close, but they miss the flexibility of user-friendly design and arrangement of typical web forms (built by formidable or gravity for example-- the problem with these is that they do not link to a custom MySQL structure ...).

Anything like that planned? or any other thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Dirk

    Hello again Dirk.

I am sorry to inform you, but we don't have anything like this planned.

It is an interesting idea, though, so I will forward this to our development team for them to take into consideration for some of the future plugin updates.

    Best regards.
