We are attempting to update the wpDataTables plugin on our website but it keeps failing due to "Could not remove the old plugin". We use the manual table creation option of this plugin for multiple web pages so would not be ideal to delete and re-install. Please advise.

Thank you for your purchase.
Please take a look at our documentation where you can see how you can successfully update the plugin.
IMPORTANT: Do NOT delete the old version from WP-admin (by clicking “Delete” in the plugins page). If you do, you will lose all your tables!
You can follow this guide :
1.) Download zip from this link
2.) Use FTP to open /yourwordpressfolder/wp-content/plugins
3.) Delete existing wpdatatables folder.
4.) Upload previously downloaded wpdatatables folder through FTP to plugins folder (unzip it)
5.) Go to WP-admin panel, open Plugins section.
6.) Deactivate wpDataTables, and then activate it again.

Our web development team followed the instructions and tried uploading the plugin twice. All the files went through successfully but it keeps giving the attched error upon plugin activation. Please advise.

Can you please tell me which version of PHP do you use.
Our plugin requires minimum version of 5.6, but we recommend updating to 7 or more.
