I just purchased wpDataTables and used "Create a table by importing data from data source" to import Google Sheets data to my wordpress site.
The import worked out fine, however, after the table is created and the backend should forward me to the configuration site, the page is loading forever. The loading circle appears, but nothing happens anymore. This is also the case if I check the overview page and hit the configuration icon. Same result.
The shortcode is created and the table is showing. However, I am not able to change anything.
Would be very glad to get some input to fix this issue.
Our company is located in Serbia and our working time is from 10:00 to 17:00 CET. business days.
This issue could be tied to a few things. First, let's try something simple:
- Are You able to open the main Settings for wpDataTables, on Your web-site's dashboard?
If You are, try disabling the Include bootstrap on front-end and Include bootstrap on back-end.
If that doesn't work, I'm afraid there may be a conflict with the theme You're using, or maybe some other plugin.
If disabling bootstrap doesn't work, and You can't connect it to a plugin or theme, could You please provide me a temporary WP-admin login for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue. We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course we do not provide login data to third party. You can write credentials here just check Private Reply so nobody can see them except us.
I found there is an issue with the "After the Deadline" plugin. This is the error I got:
ReferenceError: tinyMCEPreInit is not defined
/wp-content/plugins/after-the-deadline/install_atd_l10n.js?ver=4.9.9:13
I didn't want to deactivate the plugin without Your authorization, because I am not familiar with it, and I didn't want to risk causing any more issues.
Can You deactivate that plugin, and try opening a table again, please?
Just wondering .. is there a way to make the datatable on wordpress update automatically when rows are added in the google sheets table it is sourced from?
another short and similar problem to the one I had on December 22. Today I installed a membership plugin (it is called digimember).
After installing it, I have the same problem as before. After the table is created and the backend should forward me to the configuration site, the page is loading forever. The loading circle appears, but nothing happens anymore. This is also the case if I check the overview page and hit the configuration icon. Same result. Also, the tables disappear on the pages where I implemented them.
As I definitely need some sort of membership plugin, I have to know what issue is. Could you maybe login for a moment and check what is the issue here?
I apologize, but I was able to open all Google Spreadsheet tables (see attachments).
Could You tell me on which table does this issue appear? Also, did You disable that plugin? If so - please enable it and get back to us, so that we can try to remote in again.
thank you for your reply. The name of the Plugin was "Digimember 3" and I forgot to turn it on again. Now, that I activated it again, the tables disappear again.
I saw that both front-end and back-end bootstrap was disabled, but nonetheless it gave me errors when DigiMember was active. So, I went in under Plugins/Editor, and modified class.wdttools.php under wpDataTables. The issue seems to have been resolved.
Please test it as much as You can and let me know.
Also, bear in mind that You'll need to do this when You update the plugin in the future. You can copy and save the code somewhere.
big probs for your problem-solving skills and thank you very much for your help. It seems to work perfekt! I will save the code somewhere and have it for the next update.
Feel free to use my hype for a testimonial anywhere you want :-)

Hey Aleksandar,

Hello Philipp.
You're welcome, I'm glad we worked it out.
There is a cache on the Google side, so when you update the table it might take up to 5-15 minutes to be reflected in wpDataTable.
That goes for Create a table linked to an existing data source option:
If You created a table by importing data from data source, then this doesn't apply and it will not be updated when You change the Google Sheet.
Best regards, and merry Christmas!
