We're Moving to a New Support Platform – Starting June 1st!

We’re excited to let you know that starting June 1st, we’ll be transitioning to a new support system that will be available directly on our product websites – Amelia, wpDataTables, and Report Builder. In fact, the new support platform is already live for Amelia and wpDataTables, and we encourage you to reach out to us there.

You'll always be able to reach us through a widget in the bottom right corner of each website, where you can ask questions, report issues, or simply get assistance.

While we still do not offer live support, a new advanced, AI-powered assistant, trained on our documentation, use cases, and real conversations with our team, is there to help with basic to intermediate questions in no time.

We're doing our best to make this transition smooth and hassle-free. After June 1st, this current support website will redirect you to the new "Contact Us" pages on our product sites.

Thanks for your continued support and trust – we’re excited to bring you an even better support experience!

Form Query to Table Display?

Not sure I saw what I was looking for in the wpDataTable and Gravity Form video, so I'm asking if its possible.

We have some databases that are massive, and have no need to simply display them outright. Instead we currently use a form to input things like phone number, start date, and (optional) end date to query the database and return only matching results.

Can wpDataTables do this, build a table display from form values?  In short, the page has a form first, then after a submit, a table display if results were returned.

    Hi Frank,
Thank you for your interest in wpdatatables.

Gravity Forms integration for wpDataTables is an add-on that builds a bridge between the wpDataTables plugin which renders awesome interactive responsive tables and charts and Gravity Forms advanced form builder. The form entries will be rendered as rows, form fields will be treated as columns.

When you activate it, you will have one more data source in the wpDataTables’ table creation wizard – Gravity Form.

See the documentation and tutorial on using the addon on this link.

You have first to make a table from that form. Please note that only forms that do have 1 or more entries can be rendered in a table. After that when you insert shortcode of the form and table on the page it will be shown both on page. When you submit the data in form it will be available in table that you insert below.

    Best regards.

    Kind Regards,

    Isidora Markovic

    Milan,

I have some confusion on my end on what GF does for the datatable.

For example, I have a table with 10000+ entries, that has 25 columns.  We don't want to simply display a table of this data.  Its too much and frankly, most people will want to filter it based on start date, end date and phone number.   Will the GF add-on allow my users to visit a page with a form first, pick start date/end date and enter in a 10 digit phone #, hit submit and then get a result page with a datatable?

I am including 2 attachment examples.  I have blocked out a lot of data for privacy, but you'll get the idea.

    Hi grungyape,

Unfortunately not, because like I explain our plugin or add-on don't have forms like built in features. What can be interesting for you is our another add-on Powerful filters. You can hide table before search and when users fill necessary data in filters and press search it will be shown table with filtered data. You can take a look in our documentation about Powerful filters.

Please note these limitations on Gravity based tables with wpDataTables.

    • Gravity Forms integration addon is working with a wpDataTables plugin and a core Gravity Forms plugin. However, integration with other Gravity Forms addons isn’t confirmed, so we cannot guarantee that it will work.
    • Unavailable options – Because we are using Gravity own forms for editing functionalities, some features are unavailable in both table and column settings. These options are grayed out and disabled.
    • Searching, filtering and sorting with Server-side processing – After turning on server-side processing filtering, sorting and searching may start to behave unexpectedly. We plan to work with Gravity team to improve it in future versions.
    • Editing existing entry for multi-page form – Editing will work but it will be rendered as a single page form, the same way as it is on the Gravity forms edit page.
    • no Duplicate option not working for editing existing entries – Gravity form doesn’t validate this option on editing existing entries.
    • Configuring table relations (foreign key) – This option is not available for Gravity based tables
    • Choosing editor input type – This falls under the first limitation. Because we are rendering Gravity form in edit popup modal it is not possible to choose editor input type
