UPDATE - so before anyone has been able to assist with this I have now encountered another issue. I went to take a look at the Amelia set up again only to find that ALL the set up i had previously done has all re-set to default. i.e as though I had never set it up. I attempted to put in the purchase code again and I get the error 500
I think everything should work fine. Your user handy didn't have a nickname in the WordPress user settings and this field is required. I have setup your user handy nickname and now everything works fine. Can you please check?
"However, that is great if a customer wants to book in one service or multiples of the same service. But what if they want different services?
So for example :-
Book in a job to have a tap fitted and also booking in to have a light fitting fitted. Can this be done?"
"When you add a new service the custom fields do not update automatically when set to ALL.
So each time you put a new service in you have to then go back to the fields section and click on ALL on each one."
- Thank you for suggestion. We will see if something like that is possible, because there is a relation in the database between custom fields and services, and when new service is created we must create new relation between these two entities.
"It would be good to be able to add links in the services description boxes."
- We already have this feature in our roadmap and we will develop this for one of the future releases, but I can't promise when it will be exactly released.
Unfortunately, we don't have the feature of adding multiple different services in one booking. Like Milos said, this is possible only with our Extra option but selecting the totally separate services is not possible at the moment. We have a features list here where you can track our plans, and it would be great if you could vote for this feature as we plan to follow our users' needs in the further plugin development.
Suggestion - Book multiple services at the "same" time
So If a customer wants to book in one service or multiples of the same service this can be achieved using the Extra function.
However what if they want to add different services?
So for example :- in the case of a Handyman a customer wants to book to have a tap fitted & a curtain pole putting up & an Outside tap fitted.
So the solution would be to allow a customer to choose the first service and then be able to add one or more services.
Each one with their own timescale and cost and this would just add up accordingly ready for the next available day/time on the calendar.
When I came to set up a new customer it didn't ask me to fill in other mandatory fields. Only when I came to book in a job did it request them. I think if they are set as mandatory it should ask for them at the time of set up.
When you select Extra with Service the hours are calculated as total Extra+Service, so if Extra has 1hr duration and Service has 1hr duration, total service will last 2hr. One more note, if you use Bringing anyone with you option for group appointment and add extra, the price will multiple with number of persons but Extra hours will not.
As for the second one, I am not sure that I understand you. Are you talking about creating a customer on the back-end? Since the data from custom fields on the booking form are stored in the appointment, we did the same on the back-end and placed them on the appointment modal. So when you are creating the appointment from the back-end you will see them in the modal, and they will be saved in the appointment's info, they will not be on the customers side.
"When you select Extra with Service the hours are calculated as total Extra+Service, so if Extra has 1hr duration and Service has 1hr duration, total service will last 2hr. One more note, if you use Bringing anyone with you option for group appointment and add extra, the price will multiple with number of persons but Extra hours will not."
Okay so yes I understand that if you use the Extra with Service it = Extra+Service And that works but only if you add one extra.
But I am saying that if you add more than one Extra it does not increase the time, only the total cost.
Will this be fixed very soon please? The reason I ask is 1. it is completely useless to me in its current condition and 2. I have a couple more issues/questions I want to raise but no point unless number 1 is resolved. Thanks
We tested this one and you are right, it should work like you described. Since we've already prepared a new version (which will be released in a couple of hours), we will fix this for the next one. Until then I could offer you that our developers fix this bug in your plugin, so you can use it. You can update the plugin after we release a 1.3.3 version and we can implement a fix then for you.
We will release auto-update very soon so you will be able to update the plugin through WordPress plugins page. Just add your purchase key in Amelia settings.
Regarding the extra duration, we can fix that on your website and we will also release that fix in the next update, so you don't have to revert to your old booking system. Do you want that we fix the extras durationo on your website?
We have tested the issue that you have explained and we find that there is a bug when you try to add new customer in the appointment from the Calendar page. Thank you for reporting this, we have added it on our To Do list and it will be fixed for the next release.
As for the other questions:
1. We have added this feature on our features list with the example that you have provided, and we will reconsider it for the future updates. At the moment we have already planned the most requested features and we will first implement them.
2. This is a good suggestion and we will add it on our To Do list for one of the future updates.
3. You can adjust the working hours for every employee, but if it is about one-time events then I would advice to connect the employee to his Google Calendar, so each time an event (like doctors appointment) is added into the Google cal (with status Busy), those time slots will be deleted from the schedule so no-one could schedule the appointment then.
4. You can edit the text for each type of email, so if you want to add a link to the WordPress page you can do that.
5. Like the second one, this is a good suggestion and it will be added in the future.
6. Unfortunately, this is not possible because in that way you would be able to set a custom duration and our services has fixed duration (for example you would mark 2 hours and our service lasts one hour).
7. This is possible, when you click on the placeholder the placeholder is automatically copied so you can just past it in the email.
8. We will reconsider this option. It is a good idea but there are many users that use a different custom fields for different services, so that would be an issue for them.
9. Once you hover over the custom field placeholder you will see a name of the field.
10. Could you please explain this one a little bit more, as I didn't understand.
11. This one also, could you please explain a little bit more?
12. Our integration with WooCommerce offers the option of sending invoices. More about it you can read here.
13. We have added your explanation. You are right and thank you for the suggestion, in the future we will add the explanations to the other ones also.
1. There were multiple different requests regarding the booking: to add an option for booking multiple services at the same time, at different time, selling the packages, option to choose service duration etc. Since we get a lot of different requests we carefully follow them and implement the most requested first, and by now Google Sync, WooCommerce integration, SMS notification feature which is in progress, Custom fields and many other were more requested.
3. Yes, the adjusting the employee's working hours is a workaround until we implement the special days feature. However most of our users use Google sync to connect their calendar so they can add their private events (like doctors appointment is) and restrict their clients from scheduling in that time, and this is not a workaround, it is a feature that Google sync offers.
7.,8. and 9. We will think about these three for some feature releases. Custom fields is a new feature and it will certainly be more developed during time.
11. I assume that you would be adding this appointment. My advice is to create a service Quoted job that would have some minimum duration required for you to go to your customer's house, and add all extras to that service with their durations and prices. After that, each time you have a quoted job you can add that appointment from the back-end and select extras that are agreed with your customer. At the back-end appointments also have the option to add Internal note so you can add some note for that Quoted job.
12. The WooCommerce is a free plugin and it has more payment options, option to send invoices and option to add taxes which Amelia doesn't offer at the moment. For more payment options there are addons, but invoices and taxes are included in the core WooCommerce plugin.
Ok so I purchased Amelia and started the set up process.
General

Notification
All the above worked fine.
However
Working Hours & Days Off

They are both blank! SO cannot be set up.
Please help get this working

Hi John,
I think everything should work fine. Your user handy didn't have a nickname in the WordPress user settings and this field is required. I have setup your user handy nickname and now everything works fine. Can you please check?
Hi John,
You are welcome. If you have any more issues don't hesitate to ask!

"However, that is great if a customer wants to book in one service or multiples of the same service. But what if they want different services? So for example :-

- Maybe this can be created as an Extra - https://wpamelia.com/services-and-categories/#services-extras? Or Light Fitting Fitted is separate service?

Hi Isidora
Have you put it in the suggestions page already (as I cannot see it) or are you asking me to submit it?
Hi John,
I have just added this idea on the page, now you will find it, just search for Option to book multiple services.
Best regards,
Thanks I have voted on it but with the greatest of respect it does not give any detail or example for others to make an informed choice on.
I can provide a description if that would help?
John
Hi John,
Yes, thank you, we will appreciate a lot if you could provide us your use case so we can explain the customers this option in the best way possible.
I think this explains it...

Ok so I have another issue/bug-
I have just done a test customer and booking.
I selected a service which is 1hr at £20ph
That works fine.
However, when I add the same service using the Extra function it calculates the total cost right but not the hours.
So no matter how many I add the total hours allocated stay the same - https://www.screencast.com/t/zs50vHQo
As you can also see here it is also showing / allocating the wrong number of hours - https://www.screencast.com/t/s19vo2as0
......
Next issue...
When I came to set up a new customer it didn't ask me to fill in other mandatory fields. Only when I came to book in a job did it request them.

Ok lets just deal with one at a time.
"When you select Extra with Service the hours are calculated as total Extra+Service, so if Extra has 1hr duration and Service has 1hr duration, total service will last 2hr. Hi
SO I got an email to say there was an update.
I thought the updates would be available via the normal update plug-in within WP?
That to one side I thought I would download and install manually.
This did not work because I already have the same folder/files installed.
And unless I am mistaken the versions are the same anyway.
Please advise.
Thanks
John
Woke up to find yet another email directing me to another update.
Whats going on?
Which do I use ?
How do I install?
What about existing data?
Thanks
