Hi, how can I assign only one user to be able to edit a data table on the frontend of a website?
My users won't have access to the wordpress backend. Only for the frontend to edit some column values. So far I am able to assign specific roles to a table but I have over 100 unique users for a role called "importer". Only if I choose one of the users (besides Admin) he should be able to edit the table on the frontend of the site and not the whole user role group.
Something like this can be achieved but you will need this workaround.
One of our users uses s2member plugin and there he specify the user roles. ( for example made user role half-admin)
Then with our plugin set that role to be editable and enable editing for that user role. ( attachment) You will see that user role when you specify it with the s2Member plugin.
I can't do that because then I will have 1 role per user for a table but a have a lot of users. The user base is growing dynamically so always creating new user roles is just stupid.
Please tell me a better solution for this.
I need to be able to assign users to a table of one role not user roles.
Sorry but I did not quite understand what are you trying to achieve. Do you have any example or screenshot/video, so I can understand better this use case.
Also, please tell me did you try to check this option from our documentation.
Hi, it's not quite the feature I am looking for but it goes in the right direction. Simply hiding values isn't what I am looking for.
- User A with role "Apotheke" should edit and see the [wpdatatable id=2] in the frontend. - User B with role "Apotheke" should only seeall tables in the frontend. - User C with role "Apotheke" should edit [wpdatatable id=4] but see all other tables in the frontend. - ...and so on..
This is the datasource table (excel) on which the user role can be assigned and what I've done. Screenshot: https://prnt.sc/lj83ts
This table can be edited in the frontend with the user role “apotheke” but should be only limited to one user (I want to assign e.g. User A to Table with ID=2). Screenshot: https://prnt.sc/lj828p
Sorry to disappoint you but unfortunately something like this is not possible to achieve with the plugin built in features at the moment.
When you specify the user role to edit the table that will be for all users that have that user role, and it is not possible to specify from that user role some users who can edit the table.

Hi, I think you didn't get my question.
I already have a WP Plugin called "USER ROLE EDITOR" which can do that.
But I need to be able to just assign ONE USER to ONE TABLE of a user role and not all users of that user role.
Hi syntastic,
If you have user for example John, give him the user role that will be unique ( for example Test) this role will be only be assigned to him.
Then in the selectbox like from your attachment chose Test role to be able to edit the table. In that case only John will be able to edit that table.
Best regards.
