Cannot add services/location

    Hi,

Since I purchased Amelia, I spent more time with the plugin not working than working.

I am now trying to reinstall the plugin due to a issue with a double / in a previous version. I did not get automatic plugin updates (other plugin do get them). I first tried uploading the new version with Filezilla. However, it created issues. Now I erased the plugin and I am trying to re-install everything.

However, when I try to create a category and then a service, I cannot add an employee (the employee is created) to that service (screenshot attached). If I navigate away from the Service page, the category I just created disappears (I don't know if having 0 services is the reason for that).

In the dashboard, I can see the 2 employees I added. I can also see 2 services that I added but are not visible in the services section (screenshot attached).

Also, I cannot add a location. Even if I add an address, it says Please enter address when I try to save the address (screenshot attached). I have not entered the Google API key, since that requires adding a payment method to Google. I do not know if that is why it does not work, I cannot tell from the documentation. Since it appears that a location is not mandatory, I will leave it as it is, but I still want to know if there is an issue that might affect other functionalities.

I could use some fast support with this since I had a lot of issues lately.

Amelia tables still show in the database, even after uninstalling it. I deleted the wp_amelia tables and the users are not stored anymore. However, company information and things such as the google calendar settings are still there.

    Hi Mike,
    Thank you for your purchase.

Sorry for late response but we are not working during weekends.

Can you also provide me Cpanel of your database so we can take a look at the tables there.

    Best regards.

    Kind Regards,

    HI Mike,

Can you please check now and tell me is everything working fine except the locations.

It looks like there is some issue with the Google key.

    Best regards.

    Hi Bogdan,

There still might be traces of the old version. I still get an error for a double / in https://progressivetree.com/wp-content/plugins/ameliabooking//public/js/chunks/amelia-booking-service.js which was supposed to have been fixed in the new plugin version (screenshot attached). Because of that, when I click on the calendar to book an appointment, nothing happens.

I have deactivated W3 Total Cache, cleared Varnish and the CDN cache and then opened the appointments page in an incognito window. The error is still there.

One suggestion - for builders such as Beaver Builder, you could add a way to find the service Id so we can create shortcodes for unique services. To find the service id, I had to click create new post, click on the Amelia icon in the wysiwyg editor, select the service, look at the service id number, and then paste it in the Beaver Builder text element.

    Thanks.

    HI Mike,

The issue with the calendar should be solved now, can you please check.

Also please tell me do you have enabled error reporting, because it looks like it is enabled and because of that you receive this notices.

As for the Beaver Builder It would be great if you could suggest this feature on our features list here. We plan to follow our customers needs and implement the most requested features first.

    Best regards.

    Hi Bogdan,

Thank you so much for your help.

    Couple of things:

    1. I made the suggestion on your feature list. However, the solution is much more simple. Add service id to each service so the shortcodes can be generated manually (see screenshot). If you want to be more fancy, you could set up a shortcode generator for each service that takes the service Id and generates something like [ameliacatalog service=2] . You can then copy and paste the shortcode in any type of builder. This will save a couple minutes spent creating a new post in the Wordpress editor just to find the service Id and get the shotcode.
    2. Is the plugin going to update correctly in the future on progressivetree.com? Just want to make sure that the database issues I had will not affect future updates and leave traces of the old versions even after updating.

    Take care,

    Mike

    Hi Bogdan,

Here are couple of other suggestions (please review my previous post as well):

    • Autofill does not work in Google Chrome. If I click to select my email address to be autofilled, the email field changes the color to yellow and I can see the email address in that field. However, if I click submit, it tells me there was not data entered in that field.
    • If I submit a phone number for an existing Wordpress user, the phone number does not get passed in the confirmation email.

Here how the notification email (to employee) is set up:

These are the details submitted by the customer:

    Name - %customer_full_name%

    Phone - %customer_phone%

    Email - %customer_email%

If the existing website user has no phone number associated to his profile, the phone number does not get passed even when one is present in the appointment request form. There is no other way to retrieve that phone number since the Amelia Appointments section shows only the email address. So, if the customer misspells their email, there is no way to reach out to them.

If the customer does not have an associated user, the phone number gets submitted as , +1xxxxxxxxxx I am not sure how that comma gets inserted.

    Thanks,

    Mike

    HI Mike,

I forwarded this to my team, and we will add it on our TODO list.

We will consider this to implement for some future updates of the plugin.

    Thank you for your feedback.
