We're Moving to a New Support Platform – Starting June 1st!
We’re excited to let you know that starting June 1st, we’ll be transitioning to a new support system that will be available directly on our product websites – Amelia, wpDataTables, and Report Builder. In fact, the new support platform is already live for Amelia and wpDataTables, and we encourage you to reach out to us there.
You'll always be able to reach us through a widget in the bottom right corner of each website, where you can ask questions, report issues, or simply get assistance.
While we still do not offer live support, a new advanced, AI-powered assistant, trained on our documentation, use cases, and real conversations with our team, is there to help with basic to intermediate questions in no time.
We're doing our best to make this transition smooth and hassle-free. After June 1st, this current support website will redirect you to the new "Contact Us" pages on our product sites.
Thanks for your continued support and trust – we’re excited to bring you an even better support experience!
I have an excel sheet that has links in some of the cells. When I import it, however, the links are gone. There's too much info to do it all manually so I'm wondering if there is a way to import the sheet so that the links get copied over.
Thanks
Hi Ryan,
Thank you for your purchase.
When you are making wpdatatables from existing data source for proper rendering of URL link column you have to provide proper format in file for wpdatatables which is:
http://www.google.com or https://www.google.com
or if you need text instead of link you can use:
http://www.google.com || Google or https://www.google.com || Google
Best regards.
Kind Regards,
Isidora Markovic

I don't know what that means. The link in my excel sheet does have the proper link "http" and yes it need to be linked text. But when I upload it, it's just text. If I switch the entire column to URL it makes everything a URL and I don't want that. It also just creates random URLs that don't link to anything.
I also am not able to edit them individually by row, which wouldn't be helpful anyway because I don't have the time to go through and add links to hundreds of rows.
I'm wondering if there is a way to upload my excel file so that linked text in my excel file will be added to my WordPress site as linked text.
Thanks,
Ryan
Hi Ryan,
You have to insert URL links like I explain you in previous post. You can't use any formatting in excel file because wpdatatables grab only data from file. (if you use Excel function or format for links in wpdatatable will be inserted only that text without link.)
To understand on what you mean please check file in attachment how you need to insert links in Excel file.
Best regards.

I see what you mean now, sorry. Unfortunately, however, I still can't get it to work. Here's a link to the page. I tried to make my own and it didn't work so I copy and pasted your exact example and this is what I get...

Hi Ryan,
Yes and now please change option Column type to URL link on DATA tab in column settings for that column "Player" and you will see proper link with text(I mean for that first cell where you have proper format(Google) not for others)
Best regards.

That works great but is there a way to change just cells with links or does the whole column have to be links. As you can see when I updated it, it works great in 1 cell but now I have several hundred that are all just broken links.

Hi Ryan,
Sorry for late response.
We are located in Serbia and our working time is from 10:00 to 17:00 CET. business days.
You can edit every cell one by one with standard edit modal in wpdatatables or you can use bulk multiply rows edit with Excel like editor or change it manually in Excel file that you use for this table.
Best regards.
