Editing foreign keys

    Hello,

first of all congatulations on an excellent plug in!

I was wondering if you can help me with my problem...

I have created a table and have on id field linked to a string from another table. When I try to edit a row in that table or insert a new row the field that is linked shows as a single value select box but has no entries while the tables are populated.

The first table is a users table with multiple field including a field "idLanguage" which is a foreign key to "languages" table which has a LanguageName, LanguageCode and idLanguage (foreignkeys2.png). The Users table shows correctly the string of the LanguageName (foreignkeys.png) when configured but I can not edit (fields_noteditable2.png) or insert a new row (fields_noteditable.png) since the select box is empty or can not clickable in the edit case.

After several tries reloading and starting from scratch it worked once inside the preview of the table in "create a table" page of wpdatatables. When I reload the corresponding page of my site it was not working there and returning to th preview was not working either. I have tried it with Firefox, Chrome and Chromium with all plug ins disabled.

Can you pleasee help me figure out what I am doing wrong?

    Thank you

    Hi dkoukoul,
    Thank you for your purchase.

Please provide me a temporary WP-admin login for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue. We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course we do not provide login data to third party. You can write credentials here just check Private Reply so nobody can see them except us.

Also provide me table id where you have this issue so I can take a look.

    Best regards.

    Kind Regards,

    Isidora Markovic

    Hi Milan,

currently the setup is locally on my computer. We could do what you want with Teamviewer or another desktop sharing app. Let me know the time and the app.

    Hi dkoukoul,

Please note that Skype, Teamviewer calls or etc are out off scope that we provide with standard support.

Can you please take a screencast(video) of your issue so I can see that and try to figure out what is going on.

Please also record all table settings from those tables so I can see it.

    Best regards.

    Kind Regards,

    Isidora Markovic

i have exactly the same problem with a ticket i opened just now!!!

    #1792611

The difference is that the foreign dropdown always works on the admin page, but never on a public page. (Sorry to hijack the thread)

    Thanks

  • dkoukoul replied

Yes lastadam, I have seen that behaviour as well, that in the admin pages the editing of foreign keys works but even that is not consistent in my case.
