    Hi,

I purchased wpDataTables and Powerful Filters for wpDataTables.

I have a table that I'm trying to edit that has both applied.

I'm not seeing the edit functions that I see in the documentation:

    https://wpdatatables.com/documentation/front-end-editing/back-end-editor/
    https://wpdatatables.com/documentation/front-end-editing/inline-editing/
    https://wpdatatables.com/documentation/front-end-editing/excel-like-editor/

Does the Powerful Filters add-on restrict some of the editing capabilities?

If so, what's the best practice for editing tables when you are using that add-on?

    Thank you.

    Hi chrisly,
    Thank you for your purchase.

    Sorry for late response.

We are located in Serbia and our working time is from 10:00 to 17:00 CET. business days.

In wpdatatables not all tables are editable. It depends how you create that table.

Can you please tell me how you create this table(which option form table wizard you use for creating this table)

Creating tables linked to existing data source(first option except Mysql query), in which case you will upload the file and initialize the table, whereupon it will be read every time on page load. Then you can overwrite this file to update the data. Such tables won’t be editable within WordPress, and if they are larger than 3000-5000 rows, the page load and generation time will be slow.

Importing table data to WordPress(third option). The initial data will be read and imported from the provided file or a Google Spreadsheet. You can select to skip certain columns, or add columns. You can edit both the structure and the data within the table at an any point later, but the table won’t be synced with the source file as is the case with the first option; e.g., if you change something in CSV,Excel or in source Google Spreadsheet, your wpDataTable data will stay the same because the data will be already imported to the database.

Also all tables made by second(create manual table), fourth and fifth option are editable.

    Best regards.

    Kind Regards,

    Isidora Markovic

So I created the table by importing an Excel file. I understand they aren't linked anymore. Not worried about the Excel file at this point.

I'm wondering if the best practice might be to disable the Powerful Filters for wpDataTables plugin & try to edit the table & then reactivate the Powerful Filters for wpDataTables plugin.

The 3 columns  I cannot enter are ones used in cascade filters & I am hiding them on the table (using the search filters as a form).

    Thanks!

So that didn't seem to work. I disabled Powerful Filters for wpData Tables & the 3 columns still weren't editable.

The 3 columns I cannot edit are of type single-value selectbox. I'm wondering if that is the issue. Do I need to change their type & then set it back?

    Thanks!

    Hi chrisly,

Please provide me a temporary WP-admin login for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue. We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course we do not provide login data to third party. You can write credentials here just check Private Reply so nobody can see them except us.

Also provide me a table id which you are talking about so I can take a look.

    BEst regards.

    Kind Regards,
