Hi, I have a need to: search many records, - which can be done already very well :) But upon finding the "one record" a user is looking for...
1) the user clicks on the row 2) they go to a new page 3) now this new page has data displayed from the searched table, BUT I need to display the data in a very nice layout (ie. not the simple, excel like view)
basically, can you provide an tutorial on doing the above? do you have any simple ways to "pull a single data field value" so I can display it however I need to?
note: this is for a WP page (not a downloaded doc, etc)
example: picture a classified ad website. the user does a search of what they are looking for and once they find it. they click a record and WANT to see the 'detail' page that "is all nice and pretty, etc. etc" Its customized to look really nice.
Sorry to disappoint you but unfortunately something like this is not possible to achieve with the plugin built in features at the moment.
We have in plan to implement single cell short code for some of the future updates of the plugin.
As for the URL link column you can check this link from our documentation where you can see how you can make an URL link column so when you click on the data from that column it can go to some page.
Yes, that feature is really needed/wanted... I'll have to do it manually :( Curious, do you have any timeframe guesstimates when that functionality might exists?
About the Visual Composer integration, there isn't a way that could help to display a custom, single row? Like if I had a template for custom display of a table and I pass in the ID variable?
thanks for the link ... that URL link is only for a column? Is there a way to do it for the entire row?
PS. the multiple database connections, even to tables outside of WP is AWESOME!!!!! just in case you didn't know :) So excited to see that!
I can not tell you precisely the date when this will be out but I know that this is one of the major features that is on our priority list.
Unfortunately url for the entire row is not possible also, only for columns.
As for the multiple database connections : Thank you very much, that was also a common request from our users so we implement it for this 2.3 version of our plugin.
