I have a User Login and a Modified on column that are set to %CURRENT_USER_LOGIN% and the modified on column defaults to the current date when creating a new record. However if you use the "Apply and Add New" option on the modal entry screen it does not pre-populate the entries. It works perfectly if you select New from the model popup and then click "OK" on the model form which closes the model entry screen. When you click "New" to add the next record it will populate the two fields correctly... if instead you clock on "Apply and add New" it will not populate those two fields.

Can you please send me the link of some example table so I can take a look and give you my suggestion.
Best regards.
