Old version issue

I designed this site for this client in 2016, and handed it over at that time. They were supposed to keep up on all updates, including for this plugin. They recently contacted me to add some more things to the site, and upon logging in I discovered that very few things had been updated since handing it over. The last several months, the tables on the site displayed an error. (On the home page of the current live site, you can see this error. There are also errors on multiple product pages.) I duplicated the site for staging and installed the newest version of this plugin. However, while all the tables are present, none of the data from the tables is there. Is there any way to get the original data (table cells) imported into the newest version of the plugin? Any guidance on this would be appreciated.

Additionally, I attempted to recreate tables from scratch. When I tried to make the content into a link, it didn't work. <body> and <div> was inserted with extra <> and even when I tried editing in the Excel editing style mode, it did the same thing. I don't remember having this issue when I first created the tables two years ago.

Thank you so much for your help on this.

    Hi rleegarrison,
    Thank you for your purchase.

It was big improvements and changes about the business logic for generating mysql tables and also layout of the tables in front from version 2.0 which is release in July 2017. Latest version that is available is 2.2.2 on Codecanyon. For that last one we did't release auto update so you can update manually over FTP and instructions you can find here.

Can you please point me on pages where you have wpdatatables so I can see it?

    Kind Regards,

    Isidora Markovic

I'm so sorry for responding so late. I've been in the middle of an interstate move!

The tables are located on multiple parts of the site. It's located in the footer of the site, so you can view it on the home page (goldenstatemh.com). There are also tables on product pages. Here is one: http://goldenstatemh.com/product/beams/

    Hi rleegarrison,

It is all right. Can you please take a screenshot of plugin details in Plugins directory so we can see it? Like attachment.

Looking at this now, it says "Lite." Does that mean that the free version of the plugin is installed? I definitely purchased and installed the premium version when I first designed the site. Maybe when I handed it over, instead of installing new versions of the paid, they installed the free version and that's what broke it? (Just guessing, I honestly have no idea.) :(

    Hi rleegarrison,

    Sorry for late response.

We are located in Serbia and our working time is from 10:00 to 17:00 CET. business days.

We are not sure what happens but yes from screenshot we can see that you have installed Lite version of plugin. My suggestion is to update the plugin manually by following this steps:

1.) Download zip from this link

2.) Use FTP to open /yourwordpressfolder/wp-content/plugins

    3.) Delete existing wpdatatables folder.

4.) Upload previously downloaded wpdatatables folder through FTP to plugins folder (unzip it)

5.)  Go to WP-admin panel, open Plugins section.

6.) Deactivate wpDataTables, and then activate it again.

7.) Clear server and browser cache

IMPORTANT: Do NOT delete the old version from WP-admin (by clicking “Delete” in the plugins page) if you don’t want to lose all your tables!

    Kind Regards,

    Isidora Markovic

Another issue with the same website!

I created a staging domain before I resolved this tables issue. I created multiple pages, made other changes, etc.

I ended up creating another staging domain, exactly copying over the original website (goldenstatemh.com), in order to  preserve the tables as I was able to fix the issue using the method that you had given me. I used the reliable All in One WP Migration to duplicate the files and database. Everything looks fine...except the tables. There is no data in the tables. I don't understand how this is possible if I exactly duplicated the site?? What am I missing here??

Check goldenstatemh.com vs test.goldenstatemh.com and you'll see that there's no data in the table in the footer (or in any other table on the site).

Thank you for any advice you have on this issue!!

I am glad that is working fine.

When you are moving on live site from local or stage site we can suggest to use Plugin Duplicator. We use it and it's working fine, because he will transfer all the files and also the tables to database. We are not familiar with All in One WP Migration and his functionality.
