We're Moving to a New Support Platform – Starting June 1st!
We’re excited to let you know that starting June 1st, we’ll be transitioning to a new support system that will be available directly on our product websites – Amelia, wpDataTables, and Report Builder. In fact, the new support platform is already live for Amelia and wpDataTables, and we encourage you to reach out to us there.
You'll always be able to reach us through a widget in the bottom right corner of each website, where you can ask questions, report issues, or simply get assistance.
While we still do not offer live support, a new advanced, AI-powered assistant, trained on our documentation, use cases, and real conversations with our team, is there to help with basic to intermediate questions in no time.
We're doing our best to make this transition smooth and hassle-free. After June 1st, this current support website will redirect you to the new "Contact Us" pages on our product sites.
Thanks for your continued support and trust – we’re excited to bring you an even better support experience!
Hi,
I'm planning to use wordpress with wpDataTables for my web site.
I have a table with some values in it, there are approx 2000 records. The table has code + description. In another table I'd like to create a foreign key to the first table. I've seen how to do that in your videos and it works great.
However it is a drop down list which with 2k records is a bit painful to use as there is a lot of scrolling. I'm wondering if you have a way to support a 'combobox' type of behaviour. Do you know what I mean? Where you type in a text box and it refines the results from the combo box. So lets say it was countries if you typed FR it would reduce the list to France, French Ghana, etc.
In addition to that but kind of related. If that was possible is it possible to have a field that you can select from a dropdown or combobox but also type you're own value. So lets say there is a list of countries but it doesn't include South Sudan (which is pretty new country), so you can type in South Sudan instead of selecting a value. The list of countries would ideally be in another table. So the relationship isn't a Foreign key but the table of values is used to aid/validate the input.
If you could let me know what you think and if it is possible,
Kind regards
Pete
HI Pete,
Thank you for your purchase.
Unfortunately at the moment there’s no built-in solution. However it appears in requests from time to time so we will add to our idea list and look into some possible solutions on plugin side for one of next versions.
Kind Regards,
Isidora Markovic
