Hey there, Awesome Customers!
Just a heads up: We'll be taking a breather to celebrate International Workers' Day (May 1st and 2nd - Wednesday and Thursday) and Orthodox Easter from Good Friday (May 3rd) through Easter Monday (May 6th). So, from May 1st to May 6th, our team will be off enjoying some well-deserved downtime.
During this time, our customer support will be running on a smaller crew, but don't worry! We'll still be around to help with any urgent matters, though it might take us a bit longer than usual to get back to you.
We'll be back in action at full throttle on May 7th (Tuesday), ready to tackle your questions and requests with gusto!
In the meantime, you can explore our documentation for Amelia and wpDataTables. You'll find loads of helpful resources, including articles and handy video tutorials on YouTube (Amelia's YouTube Channel and wpDataTables' YouTube Channel). These gems might just have the answers you're looking for while we're kicking back.
Thanks a bunch for your understanding and support!
Catch you on the flip side!
Warm regards,
TMS
Good morning! I imported multiple tables (CSV) which each already contained a unique primary ID. It looks like a separate primary ID column was automatically created for each imported table (wdt_ID). I'm not able to remove this column. I'd like to use my existing ID column instead of wdt_ID, meaning I would need the existing ID column be auto increment etc.
I was able to link the tables using the foreign key feature. This works well, however, if I add a new row, I have to manually enter the ID since it doesn't auto increment.
Is there a way to handle importing tables which already contain unique ID fields? Or do I need to manually edit each wdt_ID to match the existing ID fields?
Thanks!!
HI Charlie Smith,
Thank you for your purchase.
Sorry to disappoint you but unfortunately removing wdt_ID column is not possible.
wdt_ID column is automatically created when you create editable tables.
So in your case the workaround is, like you suggested, to manual edit each wdt_ID column to match the existing ID fields.
Best regards.
Kind Regards,
Miloš Jovanović

Thanks for the reply! I actually tried manually editing the wdt_ID column using the in-line edit function. It allowed me to change it, but the changes automatically reversed when I tried to save. Am I doing something wrong?
I tried editing wdt_ID by clicking the column and choosing edit as well, but it does not appear in the edit form.
Maybe I'm missing something?
Thanks again for your help!
I believe I have figured it out. I had to change the 'ID column for editing' setting to my existing ID field (instead of default of wdt_ID). I am now able to edit wdt_ID field. Once I have modified all 700+ entries to match my ID field, I will then change the setting back to wdt_ID and then delete my ID column. I think this will get things working as expected.
