Hey everyone!
With the holiday season upon us, we want to share our upcoming working hours:
- New Year: Our team will be off on January 1st and 2nd. We’ll be back on Friday, January 3rd, to respond to any messages received during this time.
- Weekend: As usual, we don’t work on weekends, so January 4th and 5th will also be non-working days.
- Orthodox Christmas: Our office will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, January 6th and 7th for the holiday.
After that, we’ll return to our regular schedule and assist you as quickly as possible.
In the meantime, you can explore our documentation for Amelia and wpDataTables. You'll find tons of helpful resources, including articles and handy video tutorials on YouTube (Amelia's YouTube Channel and wpDataTables' YouTube Channel), which might just have the answers you need while we’re away.
Thanks a bunch for your understanding and support!
Warm regards and happy holidays!
TMS
I am now trying to set up a linked table from a google sheet, as per URL - which works in a browser, but I get this:
Error
Table in data source has no rows.
Can you tell me the problem?
Dil
Hi Dil,
Thank you for your purchase.
You can take a look in our documentation to see how you can properly create a table from the google spreadsheet.
Can you please try to make a spreadsheet like from our documentation and tell me the result.
Also you will need to have column headers in order to properly create a table.
Best regards.
Kind Regards,
Miloš Jovanović

I did watch the documentation video before trying.
The only thing I can see different is that I did not have column header names.
I tried again with column header names, same result.

Have also tried using 'import from google sheets' option; error here, too.
"Error! Could not read Google spreadsheet, please check if the URL is correct and the spreadsheet is published to everyone"
Yes, this worked.
I can't immediately answer your question about hosting.
What did you do?
Hi Dil,
You just need to open a spreadsheet in this mode ( attachment) and not in this one ( attachment 2)
Best regards.

So, DON'T use the 'Publish to web' approach (which is in ALL of your documentation).
But DO use the 'sharable link' option, as attached screenshot.
I tested it myself, and this works.
Please do change your documentation (or at least add and FAQ) - this will save a lot of time (mine and yours, too)!
Thanks.
HI Dil,
Our documentation is updated with the changes that were recently on the Google side.
Google recently changed something on their side about the published links so for now only the published links from the browser allows you to make a table from it.
Like it is said in documentation
Note: Please, don’t copy the link that is first shown in Publish section.
and use the link from the browser.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Best regards.

Miloš Jovanović

Apologies - I was meaning the video documentation - which still shows the wrong approach.
I will always use the text from now on.
Thanks
So FYI it turns out I did something different again - I used the blue 'share' button on google sheets (top right), and clicked the 'get shareable link' button, which also seems to work...
HI Dil,
My apologies also I did not notice that in the video there is this case.
Thank you for reporting this.
I will forward this to my team so we can give some notice for the video.
Thank you again and sorry for any inconvenience.
Best regards.

HI Dil,
I will also investigate with the button and the shareable link.
In our older versions both links was valid and you could create a table from them.
Then Google changed something without letting us know so because of that we wrote down the notes for using the links.
As our software works with external sources, such as Google Spreadsheets, we cannot fully control and handle what happens on the other side, and eventually it leads to unpredictable problems such as the ones you are experiencing.
Recently Google made some adjustments to their API, which led to changing of the permanent URLs of published spreadsheets, which, in its turn is causing the issues that you have.
The worst part is that they did it without any announcements, or documentation, so we do not have a way to adjust to new URLs transparently for all users. But we do want to help.
Best regards.
