Hi, having created a table, when new data is entered I would like each record to be allocated a new unique number automatically. I see that there is the column WPID which kind of does this. Does this add automatically, and if it does, is it possible to set the starting number. I ask as I have imported a table that starts at number 27 (for various reasons). It would be useful if I can set the WPID number to start at 27, all new data will then match.
Thanks,
Nick
Hi Nick,
Thank you for your purchase.
This can be achieved only if you manually change the values.
You can take a look at this link and you can see this line of code
mysql> ALTER TABLE tbl AUTO_INCREMENT = 100;
In your example you can set it to start from 27.
Hope this can help.
Best regards.
Kind Regards,
Miloš Jovanović

Hi,
Thank you, I will look into this. (not to well up with mysql)...
Will this affect all tables or can it be for just one of the tables?
Thanks,
Nick
Hi Nick,
This will be applied to the tables that you specify the alter table auto increment not all of them.
Best regards.
