I am having trouble updating tables. Looking at the webpage attached you can see the second table has some info updated from the first. I had originally uploaded the first table csv info, then uploaded the second table csv info to overwrite the first. Nothing changed.
I saw that minify/ cache plugins can cause an issue with the rewrite, so I uploaded the files using ftp, in hopes of avoiding it. The customer will have about 20 csv's to upload a day. If this site is built without minify/cache, etc, will uploading the csv's to overwrite what the table was made from then work?
Do the files get moved to a different directory when the table is made?
He bought the plugin so we could test it before he goes ahead and builds his site. Will the updates work for him (new data overwrites the old) if there are no cache/minify plugins installed?
Can you please tell me didi you made this table with Create a table linked to an existing data source option or from the third option in the table wizard ( Create a table by importing data from data source )
There is a difference when you upload the tables in this 2 options.
I assume that it is the second option ( Create a table by importing data from data source)
If you want to overwrite the data in the table you will just need to upload that CSV file on right Input file path or URL that other users that you wish to change the file can see it and edit it. The users must have access to that FTP or Wordpress backend in order to change that file.
The original file was in a specific directory(wp-content/uploads). I FTP'd an edited version of the same file, called it the same name. Table 1 did not change at all.
I made table two so you could see that the new file was uploaded.
Also, I believe using WordPress's backend wouldn't work. The uploaded file name would gain a -1, -2, -3, etc each day. FTP I believe is the only way for it to work. But as of right now, it isn't updating the data.
Maybe I have it wrong... does just uploading a file with updated data automatically reset the table's data or do I need to make that happen by going into the back end of the plugin and reloading the data from there?
Is it the minify or super cache plugin moves the file to a different location when the table is first made?
"Does just uploading a file with updated data automatically reset the table's data or do I need to make that happen by going into the back end of the plugin and reloading the data from there?"
Yes, when you change the file the updated data should be reseted and overwritten with the data from the new file when you upload the file via FTP.
But keep in mind that you need to have the same number of columns each time you update the file.
"Is it the minify or super cache plugin moves the file to a different location when the table is first made?"
There should not be any issues with the minify or super cache plugins, but if you doubt in them can you please deactivate them and see if anything is changed.
Right now if I update the information by a ftp upload, it does not update the data. Same file was used, just updated. all of the same columns are there.
Can you please provide me a temporary WP-admin login for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue. We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course we do not provide login data to third party. You can write credentials here just check Private Reply so nobody can see them except us.
Also please can you send me that file so I can test it out on my side.
it will work, but probably not until today or tomorrow. Where it said home4 in the string, that is the old location. It probably hasn't propagated to you yet. You can try a shift/reload to see if that takes care of it, or open it in a browser that hasn't been to the site yet.

It is creating a table from a data source.
The first time I selected the data source from my hard drive.
Then the second I got the data source from uploading a file to a directory using ftp, selecting the data source from there.

Any ideas as to why that won't update?

HI Glen,
I tried clearing the browser cache and on a different device but still no result.
Let me know when you think which time will be the best to login and investigate.
Best regards.
