Is WPDataTables able to connect to an external MS SQL Database? I am using MySQL for the base/core WordPress install but have an external database in MS SQL on a different server that i need to obtain data from as well.
Unfortunately not at this moment at least not without customization, but this was requested multiple times and we are working on solution as we speak. If you have time please tell me what would be preferable use case for you.

My use case entails getting data from one or more MSSQL databases that may or may not have a relation to an existing WPDataTable to be able to create a number of interactive dashboards. I would need to have the ability to add new columns to an existing WPDatatable from an external MSSQL data source as well as utilizing existing WPDataTable columns that have foreign key constraints to an external source as well. We are debating on exploring the WP Business Intelligence enterprise edition plugin given it has MSSQL connectivity but WPDataTables is far more attractive given it has HighChart integration! Integration to different data sources seems to be the only piece missing to the puzzle! Is there an estimated date when this capability will be available?
