1) Yes, only one string column type is allowed to be in the chart, because if there are more string types the chart can not be created because it can not populate x or y axes with 2 string values and calculate it on the chart preview.
2) Can you please send me one spreadsheet that you are trying to make a chart so I can take a look.
The "issue" is that all of the columns are string type, and unfortunately the chart can not be created with the only string columns.
About the bad formating it is happening because when you change the column type to string the values are not displayed correctly because of the other type.
When you import some file in our plugin, our plugin automatically guess the column types for the columns in the table. In case when it does not guess it correctly you can change manualy the column type in the column settings.
Can you please explain me more what did you mean with the post below because I did not quite understand.
The issue is that the google spreadsheet file is not properly created. You must remove all of the formatting from the file.
Here is the link from my spreadsheet that I created from your file.
You can see how you can create a proper file in our documentation.
About the chart: Chart can not have just string column types and you can not create a chart from the file that you send me because all of the columns are strings. You also can not change the string type from your file to integer because the string columns can not be displayed like integer.
So to create chart you must have column which contain numbers.
Hello! I am going to be creating multiple tables and charts from Google Spreadsheets. However I am having the following difficulties:
1) The chart engine requires that I have only one string column type
2) If I convert the column type to integer, it messes up the table.
What am I doing wrong?
Hi rbalcom,
Thank you for your purchase.

Best regards.

Is there a way to change the column type without ruining the sheet?

OK, dummy here.
1) When I "publish this sheet to the web"
and use the link. WPdata tables says there are no rows.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vSG5FrTWc83Y7iku-4QSSZS_VJpNKMUbUM9F2J6VmpEj4NXZ9OUTOEdTBi6i8TJcvbImNvvqGt_C-dF/pubhtml?gid=0&single=true
2) If I create a shareable link, then it recognizes there are rows. However it removed one column and all of the columns are string type.
3) If I change one of the columns to Integer, then the chart does not display correctly.
Please see examples here
