I would like to add a single sum from mysql datasource to the page, not in a table but the value only. Example:

You have 5 new messages.

How can I do this?

I am trying to display the result of such a query on a page using shortcode:

      SELECT SUM(amount) FROM example_table;

However, I don't want to display it as a table but simply the value, e.g.:

      The total amount is 42.

Hm - could you please consider adding this functionality sometime soon?

Thanks - I have already looked into that. I need to have different sums displayed at the top of the page.

I've already achieved this using a free third party plugin. It's just that it would've been much nicer to have this functionality included in your plug-in because it was what I expected when I paid for it and I usually try to have as much as possible from one supplier.
