Unfortunately something like this is not possible with the plugin build in features.
The more information how you can achieve it is on this ticket. I did not get any information or feedback from user's that we able to implement this functionality.
This functionality seems to be the missing "link" in many of the wptable solutions. The product that builds in this functionality is really going to change how word-press is used for relational data.
The solution you provided pointed me right back to the discussion I found in the begging. It would be nice if the the Jquery suggested is spelled out for the less knowledgeable.
Unfortunately we are not allowed to share the code of the customizations because some of the users paid for it and in one hand it would not be fair because of them.
As we are constantly making some updates of the plugin this is on our TODO list, so when we find the stable solution we will probably include it for our future versions.
With the ability to use Variables for filtering tables. Is there a way to pass url variables from a link.
To expand. Continuing Jim's example.
I have a Client Record.
recordwid Name address city zip url to events table
recordid Pete 111 mockingbird lane 95382 http://mywebsite.com?tableid=123&recordid=3
When the url to events is clicked it would load the events just for that recordid.
It would be great if as the table is rendering if there was a way to load the recordid into the created url for this purpose.
Has anyone else accomplished a similar solution?
Pete
