We've recently upgraded to wpDataTables 2.0.2 on a WordPress 4.8.1 installation. We are seeing the same problem reported in "Show records box not working" (#1241350). Specifically, the front-end data table works fine EXCEPT when you click "Show 10 entries" to change it, when nothing happens.
I did an "Inspect Element" on this item and the sub-items are there. So it seems that whatever JavaScript / jQuery trigger is being used isn't working.
I've reproduced this both with the current Avada theme and the WordPress "Twenty Seventeen" theme, so I don't think it's a theme conflict. And this was not a problem before the update (or so it seems since other things were updated at the same time).
I've also noticed that this same control IS WORKING on the back-end preview. So that's a clue.
I can give you a URL to the site and table, but it is on a protected page, so I'd have to privately give you credentials to see it.
Thank you very much for your kind words, we will do our best.
If you like our plugin and support we'd greatly appreciate it if you could take a minute and leave a review on CodeCanyon on this link. It means a lot to us.
Thanks.
I wonder if this is something that could be reported automatically in the plugin (e.g. if you don't detect Bootstrap, display a red footer note: 'Warning: Bootstrap.js does not appear to be enabled. Try turning on the “Include bootstrap.js on the front-end” option in the wpDataTable settings.')
Your suggestion have a point and we are working to update somehow this feature or hopefully that this issue with bootstrap will find some stable solution. But for now this is the proper workaround.
Many themes, templates, plugins etc use different versions of bootstrap and that is why this issue is a little bit tricky.
The bootstrap is making a lot of issues not just with our plugin but with the other products also.

Hi Bogdan,
Yes, that solved the problem! :-)
I tried that earlier but must have forgotten to do "Apply" (or do a "deep refresh" on the page).
Case closed! Best of luck with the new version. wpDataTables is a GREAT product!
Larry
