I had a table with some HTML in a "string" column, and all of the rows were displaying fine.
Then I needed to change one of the URLs in the HTML data, and when I did, it started displaying with an extra > in a row above the data and a > in a row below it. (See attachment1)
When I looked at the source, I see that no matter what I try, it keeps taking what I input (a href="http://www.paddedtushstats.com/SweetBottomsBabyBoutique">Sweet Bottoms Baby Boutique</a>***) and adding extra HTML code (see attachment2).
Am I doing something wrong by using HTML in a string column? (There are a few hundred rows in the table and none of them have any problems, nor did this one either until I changed the target URL. Nothing else changed!).
The table does display on the website the way it should again (hooray! Had I done something wrong or was there just a glitch?)
However, the extra HTML is still a problem. If I edit the second row and put JUST the code to add a URL to the store name (which I keep trying to type out here for clarity, but then the link gets turned into something totally different), after I save it the extra brackets are still displayed. When I go back to edit the row and look at the Store Name, the unnecessary body and div tags and brackets are back again.
So the HTML tag issue hasn't changed at all since I first wrote in.
Nope, didn't make a difference. I also tried deactivating WP Rocket and nothing changed.
Does it have anything to do with the column settings? I think this is the first time I've tried to edit the data in that column since I imported the initial table.
I also tried manually creating a new row with that same URL in the Store Name column, and it ended up with the tags in there, also (I'd be open to a workaround like that if it meant I could move forward with this project).
When you try to edit the data ( click on edit button) the modal popups. Even if you do not change anything and press OK something automatically added those tags. You can see it on table ID 25 I pressed ok several times. ( attachment)
Can you please tell me which version of libxml do you use. You can find that in the php.info file.
No, the plugin is stable with this commented lines, just in case when the new update is released maybe you will need to do this again but I hope that this will be solved for the future update.
If you like our plugin and support we'd greatly appreciate it if you could take a minute and leave a review on CodeCanyon on this link. It means a lot to us.

Hi Kenner82,
Thank you for your purchase.
Unfortunately I can't access to your site with old credentials, can you please investigate.
Also point me to the exact table id where you have this issue.
Best regards.
Kind Regards,

Hi Kenner82,
About displaying tables :
Can you please check now and tell me if it is working like it should.
About html tags:
Can you please check in your database the data that is entered for that two fields and delete those unnecessary brackets.
Best regards.

Miloš Jovanović

Hi Kenner82,
I can now see that the body and div tags are added after the saving.
Can you please tell me do you know if some of other plugins that you have are responsible or related for HTML tags.
Thank you.

I don't think so! (But of course you're welcome to look at my list of plugins and see if anything looks suspicious to you).
Hi Kenner82,
Can you please try to deactivate WordFence and see if it will work after that.
Best regards.

I tested out a little bit more.

Hmm, phpinfo.php had nothing helpful in it (see attached). I'll email Siteground and ask them, though.
Alright, they explained to me how to check that file ;) And the answer is version 2.7.8.
Hi Kenner82,
Ok, can you please go to this file wp-content/plugins/wpdatatables/source/class.wdttools.php and around line 710 find this code
and comment that code to look like this
Let me know the result after that.
Best regards.

HOORAY, IT WORKED! Thank you so much for all your work troubleshooting this random issue!
Do I need to worry about anything else not working with that code commented out?

You are welcome.
Glad that we solved the issue
