We're Moving to a New Support Platform – Starting June 1st!

We’re excited to let you know that starting June 1st, we’ll be transitioning to a new support system that will be available directly on our product websites – Amelia, wpDataTables, and Report Builder. In fact, the new support platform is already live for Amelia and wpDataTables, and we encourage you to reach out to us there.

You'll always be able to reach us through a widget in the bottom right corner of each website, where you can ask questions, report issues, or simply get assistance.

While we still do not offer live support, a new advanced, AI-powered assistant, trained on our documentation, use cases, and real conversations with our team, is there to help with basic to intermediate questions in no time.

We're doing our best to make this transition smooth and hassle-free. After June 1st, this current support website will redirect you to the new "Contact Us" pages on our product sites.

Thanks for your continued support and trust – we’re excited to bring you an even better support experience!

There was an error when trying to create a new row

    Hi,

Just purchased this plugin yesterday. I'm getting some problems when trying to set up a new manual table. When using the multi-line editor in a column, I get an error message when trying to add more than one row of text in the field. The error says "There was an error when trying to create a new row", and I can't save it. If I just use one row of text in the editor it works.

The same thing happens when I use the HTML-editor. If I put anything in the editor and try to save, I get the same error message. If I leave the editor blank I can save the data.
I'm running Wordpress 4.7.3 on the website, but have also tried on two other websites running WP 4.8.1. All three websites are on different servers, if that helps. I get the same problem on all three websites.

Any idea why this is happening?

    Thanks

    Hi Sunt123,

Please tell me what is the version of the plugin that you are using?

I'm using version 2.0.1, I think that's the latest one?

Sorry, I saw I posted two tickets by mistake regarding this. I'll post the update I made in the other ticket here, and you can close/delete the other ticket.

Update: After searching for a solution, I enabled PHP mbstring on my server. Now I can save data with multi-line and HTML editor without getting the error message. I get a success message BUT as soon as I save, all the data I've put in these editor fields disappears from the table.

    Hi Sunt123,

Please tell me do they get saved to the database and also do you have any errors in your server error log related to our plugin

    Hi Miliko,

I have checked the database, and nothing from the multi-string or HTML-editor fields get saved. I haven't been able to find any errors related to wpdatatables in the error log either.

    Hi Sunt123,

Could you send me a temporary admin credentials so I can take a look?

    Hi,

    Any update on this?

    Hi Sunt123,

I can confirm the problem exist on your website. To debug it properly I would need FTP access as well as access to your database. Is it option for you to send me those?

    Hi Sunt123,

That would be the easiest way, but you can also provide me temporary FTP and phpMyAdmin accounts.
