When I am trying to update wp DataTables following your instructions I get this error every time when I try to activate plugin after uploading new version. I am sorry I have to keep this website live and tables available for visitors. I installed older version of your plugin.
Any version from the 5.4 is compatible with our plugin. So my suggestion is to upgrade the php version because your one is not recommended for our plugin.
Minimum requirements is 5.4 but the best option is to update to 7.0+
