We would like to have both of the following enabled:
Check this checkbox if you would like this table to be horizontal scrollable.
Check this checkbox if you would like to limit the table's width to 100% of parent container (div).
Check this checkbox if you would like words in cells to wrap and to extend row's height. Leave unchecked if you want to leave one-line row heights.
At the moment, once you enable horizontal scrollable, you CANNOT limit the table width anymore.
I think this will solve a lot of issues with very big tables. It would be similar to the way Wikipedia does their tables. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kraków
Word wrap option is actually always functional only when "Limit table layout" was turned on, so we decided to hide it in case this checkbox isn't ticked. Also Limit table layout options is functional when Scrollable option is not checked. Those two functions overlapped each other and that is why only one can be active at the moment. However this can be hard coded but from my experience i think that it will not do the trick.
Maybe the issue is in the theme so for testing purposes can you please try to change the theme and see if the tables are better after that.
Also I take a look at your data in the table, which can be the issue if the data is too large( long sentences or etc) so my suggestion will be to hide some of the columns on mobile or tablet which are less important. You can find more info in our documentation.
Info about the Scrollbar:
Scrollbars are controlled by browser so that causes this "issue" to be tricky to implement for future updates. Of course I will note your suggestion about Wikipedia so we can find the proper solution for this for our upcoming releases.
