Earlier today I set up a new table and it was working perfectly, but I think it was a glitch and now I'm not sure if I can recreate it.
I have a table with a few narrow columns and then one column with a LOT of text in it. On a desktop, it looks best with word wrapping enabled and I just adjust the width of the narrower columns so that they don't use up unnecessary space.
If I view the same table with word wrapping on a mobile device, though, much of the data is cut off and cannot be read.
If I turn off word wrapping and enable horizontal scrolling, the column with all the text in it is just ENORMOUS and incredibly ugly and inconvenient on both mobile and desktop view.
When it was glitching today, I somehow had both word wrapping AND horizontal scrolling enabled - on my desktop no scrolling was necessary, but on my phone I still had the word wrapping but was also able to scroll to see the additional columns so that none of the words were cut off or broken.
What is my best solution for this situation? My entire reason for purchasing this plugin was to make this particular data set easier to view on mobile devices, and it's getting frustrating not seeing how to make that happen!
Can you please tell me which version of our plugin do you use?
In your case my suggestion will be for that column to use Hide on mobile option from table settings page. You can find more about Responsive tables in our documentation.
I can't find anything in the documentation on Code Canyon about the version number, but my plugin page lists it as version 1.72.
In any case, that particular column is the most important one, and the reason I needed a better display option for mobile devices in the first place, so hiding it isn't a very good solution. Is there no other option?
Can you please provide me a temporary WP-admin login for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue. We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course we do not provide login data to third party. You can write credentials here just check Private Reply so nobody can see them except us.
Also point me to the table ID so I can take a look and give you my suggestion.
Ok I can see now. The issue is that the data in the cells is too long and the only workaround that I can suggest is to hide that column for mobiles and tables or to enter the data like from the attachment.
