In our older versions of the plugin we had an option to add a br tag in column headers but unfortunately due to some security reasons we removed it. For now if you have a "long" our suggestion is to use scrollable option because there is no possibility to change the header even if you use some CSS.
Is the Scrollable option something that you might consider?
Sorry to disappoint you but unfortunately something like this is not possible at the moment. I can give you some workaround and maybe it will be useful for you.
First check the Responsive option in Additional settings. Then for columns that have long headers (or columns that are "less important") you can select an option to be hidden on mobile in Optional column setup for that columns. Then in wpdatatables Settings page increase the Mobile width for example to 3000px.
Then for that table, when you view it on computer, that columns will have "+" sign and when some user click on it , the content of that column will be displayed.
Please note that this is just a workaround not a proper solution, but we have some requests for future versions to implement functionalities to hide on desktop and for users to be able to change the column headers to their desire.
Sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for understanding.
I need to enable word wrap in my tables but the words are getting cut. You can see the example in this page: https://www.thepalife.com/wp-data-table/
All the top table text is very poorly broken.
I would like it to be set to word-break:keep-all;
Is there any way to do this? I like the worwrap function but it is just formatting poorly.
Thanks

I tried the scrollable options but it doesn' work for my needs. Is there a way to do this using functions.php or custom css?
