I have a lot of data that will be in my tables and I'd like my users to be able to easily compare and contrast items in different rows (which may not necessarily be close to each other in a list). I'm just wondering if it's possible to add one of two things to all the tables that I am currently designing:
1) A checkbox that corresponds to each row, and a button that says "compare". When specific rows are checked, I'd like the user to be able to compare those checked rows side by side on a seperate page.
AND/OR
2) Display the table as just the name from column one, which when clicked will expand to reveal the other columns of data within that row, so that users can click and expand the items they want to browse, whereas the others will just display their name. (please see screenshot of something similar).
Ideally I'd prefer choice one but since I'm a complete novice, I'd appreciate any help or advice.
1. Unfortunately something like this requires some serious code customization and it is not possible without it. So our suggestion will be some workaround combined with your second suggestion
-Make table responsive and hide (hide on mobile or tables) all columns except first one. - Go to wpdatatables settings page and increase the width for mobile or tables so that columns will be hidden on computer also.
The one problem I seem to be having now though is that the table doesn't load on my mobile. If I check the box in settings entitled " Check this checkbox if you would prevent table from showing until the page loads completely. May be useful for slowly loading pages," then it shows up but a "loading" sign appears and never stops loading. If I don't select that buttton, then nothing appears on my mobile screen.
I don't have a tablet so I'm not sure how it's displaying on ipads?
Hi there,

HI BSD,
Thank you for your purchase.
Hope this can help.

Hi Bogdan,
Thank you for your reply and suggestions. I'll have a play around with these workarounds and hopefully they'll sort the problem out.
Thanks again

Hi Bogdan,
The desktop solution seems to work fine.

Thanks in advance for your help
