Since the last update (to v1.7.2) the inline editing has been a little picky about when a double-click will enable the field for editing.
I was having trouble finding a repeatable issue, but now it think that when there is a forward-slash character value in a field, then double-clicking will not enable the inline editing. I've validated this using Firefox for Windows & for Mac, and also Chrome for Mac.
A semi-aside question ... Is there any specific type or range of browsers that you develop and test with? (We can tell our data-entry people to prefer that one).
Hi Corky,
Thank you for the purchase.
Problem with Inline editing when cell contains special characters will be solved for version 2.0.
If you want to fix this issue for the current version please provide me a temporary WP-admin login for your site where this happens, so we could log in and resolve the issue. We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course we do not provide login data to third party. You can write credentials here just check PRIVATE so nobody can see it except us.
Hi Corky,
It should be fixed now. Please try, just first you have to clear browser cache.
It still doesn't seem to be working. (I tried Chrome on Mac & Windows, and also IE 11)
You can see it at this link with the separately sent credentials: http://tf-sandy.org/sched_we/
(I do sometimes have problems getting the cache cleared properly, but the Windows Chrome is a new install, so I'm sure I got that correct.)
Playing with it a bit more, comma chars in a field do not disable the inline editing, but forward slash, single-quote, double-quote, and period chars (and probably others) do disable the inline editing.
Hi Corky,
Can you please check now? I have tried on cells Becca, Tim, Ted, Paul and "All Worship" Sunday and it's working.
I tried again. On Firefox (Mac & Windows) it is working fine now.
It's not working on Chrome (neither Win or Mac), nor is IE 11 working.
We only have a couple people doing data entry, so Firefox having working for now is good enough for us.
I appreciate the prompt assistance!
Gary.
