the plugin used to work fine, I had made one alteration to the plugin file to filter table by five by default. There used to be a ticket where I got the help to do it but it is now missing it was called "filter table by 5 by default".
So it worked fine. However recently we reinstalled wordpress and I had to reinstall the original plugin and I did however save the database tables and reloaded them after. Since then I have been getting a php error
"Fatal error: Call to a member function setFilterType() on boolean in /home/content/a2pewpnas01_data01/74/4016974/html/wp-content/plugins/wpdatatables-1_6_1/source/class.wpdatatable.php on line 1699"
so help with recreating the code edit that is missing I think would be what is needed, maybe the ticket still exists somewhere
Please provide me a temporary WP-admin login for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue. We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course we do not provide login data to third party. You can write credentials here just check Private Reply so nobody can see them except us.
Also point me to the page where you have this error so I can take a look. Thank you.
I noticed that you are using 1.6.1 version of our plugin and the 1.7.2 version is out. Can you please update it so I can investigate if you still have an issue. You can auto update by entering the purchase code in wpdatatables settings page or you can manually update the plugin following this steps:
I auto updated the plugin. There was an error message "update failed" however it now reports the new version number.
I am still getting the same error.
I feel it is due to values in the database that were entered after a code adjustment to allow tables to be filtered by 5 by default instead of 10 and now I am using a plugin that does not support that any more it is throwing an error.
Sorry for late response we had some national holidays in past 4 days.
Can you just point me to the table ID so I can investigate. Also please tell me does that code adjustment was done by our developers or it is some custom solution? Thank you.
yes this problem started after refreshing word press and loading the original plugin back in without the code modification.
The modification got lost.
It was so long ago I created all the tables I can not answer whether columns were added after table was created, but I can say they all used to work fine and have not been altered since.
I investigated more and I can tell the the issue is definitely in the database not in the customization. There was the changing of the column number, position or column type in the table and that is why you have this error. So my suggestion will be to try to recreate the tables from the scratch and see if the error will still appear.
what I really need is the code modification back, I will sort out the incorrect values in the database if they are still a problem after. I need the filter by 5 by default back again, it was only two lines of code, I do not know where the code should be changed.
We are sorry to hear you have lost the custom work we have done for you, however unfortunately we do not keep copies of each customization we develop, and cannot be responsible for code loss on your side. If you would want us to develop customization for you again, unfortunately we would have to charge for it again as our developers work is not free, and we would need to invest our time in it again.
Are you sure you do not have a backup? Did you contact your hosting provider, they sometimes do backup copies?

4.) Upload previously downloaded wpdatatables folder through FTP to plugins folder (unzip it)
5.) Go to WP-admin panel, open Plugins section.

Hi Neill
I was not able to find that ticket and also as I can see that is not implemented on your site.

Also can you please tell me did you add/remove some columns after you created table first time?
Thank you.
