A problem, when we copy a wptable

    Hello,

    I'm contacting you, because i'm facing a problem with your plugin :

    When i create a wptable linked to database with an excel file as a datasource, then duplicate the wptable, a problem happens, the dupplicated columns are not in the right order and i find 0 data ! i think because it is related that i have 10000 lines in the database. It's very urgent !

    Hello,

    I would like to thank for the solutions proposed, it solved my problem !

    But there is two other problems :

    1- When we erase a dupplicated wpTable, it erases the original table from the database and it should not

    2- I have a problem with Excel view, when activated and after activated the standard view, comuns weren't displayed very well and i could not edit the table anymore and in the client side the table doesn't load (when it's excel view)

    Hi Nizar,

    i am happy to see that it resolved the previous issue.

    For the new issues :

    1. When you make table duplicate, there is an option you can choose if you do not wish your copies of this table to become synchronized :

    This is only available for Manual Tables, so I assume that is what you are using.

    I would strongly advise leaving this option enabled:

    This way, the plugin will create a new table in the database, so changes in the new table will not affect the original table.

    But, since your duplicated table got erased, this means that you have disabled that option;

    so any duplicate deletion is going to remove all other copies of that table.

    At this moment when the table and its synchronized duplicates get deleted, there is nothing we can to do get it back;

    you can only check with your hosting support if they have any backup they can help, 

    for you to revert your site state back when you still had that table;

    But again, this table is going to stay "synchronized",   I hope that I explained that in a clear way;

    let me know if you have any question about that.

    To summarize, in the future, if you do not wish for all duplicates to 'follow'/synchonize any change and deletion,

    then just enable that "duplicate database table" option - this way they all behave independent from other copies.

    2. For the problem with Excel-View,

    this is a more complex issue, can you please open a new ticket and we can focus on in there?

    When you have multiple questions or issues which are for different subjects/topics,

     please open a new ticket for each subject, and we will help/advise more effectively. 

    In that way, issues and questions which are related to different subjects will be in separate tickets so other users or our support agents can find them easily. 

    Our policy is to have one issue or question per ticket for the reasons described already.

    When you open the separate ticket, just copy what you wrote here,

    but if you can please record your screen and send me a Video so that we can see exactly the steps to cause that issue?

    For now, we are not able to reproduce it, but maybe we are not doing the same setup as you are,

    so if you can show us more details how that happens on your site, and we will investigate.

    If you can also separate these issues :

    1. The columns are not displayed as expected

    2. Not able to edit the table

    3. Table does not load on client side when in excel View

    So the best way will be to focus on individual issues like this, and we can proceed.

    Of course, if you send us any screenshots or Video that has sensitive data, please mark replies as PRIVATE for this purpose, for security reasons.
