Can you let me know if the Notifications is set to pending upon approval, and the admin get a pending appointment notification for approval email, is there as code which can be put in the email which when clicked, will approve the appointment? Thanks

Yes, you can set appointment status to approved or pending. If you can set to pending it is woking as you have explained, but it is not possible to approve the appointment straight from the email.
