Hey there, Awesome Customers!

Just a heads up: We'll be taking a breather to celebrate International Workers' Day (May 1st and 2nd - Wednesday and Thursday) and Orthodox Easter from Good Friday (May 3rd) through Easter Monday (May 6th). So, from May 1st to May 6th, our team will be off enjoying some well-deserved downtime.

During this time, our customer support will be running on a smaller crew, but don't worry! We'll still be around to help with any urgent matters, though it might take us a bit longer than usual to get back to you.

We'll be back in action at full throttle on May 7th (Tuesday), ready to tackle your questions and requests with gusto!

In the meantime, you can explore our documentation for Amelia and wpDataTables. You'll find loads of helpful resources, including articles and handy video tutorials on YouTube (Amelia's YouTube Channel and wpDataTables' YouTube Channel). These gems might just have the answers you're looking for while we're kicking back.

Thanks a bunch for your understanding and support!

Catch you on the flip side!

Warm regards,

TMS

    Hello,

I have set up advanced column filters in a form above the table. If the data in the cells contains: ?, (), * or similar characters, the cells are not included in the results. Also I have cells with the text "CARLTON" and some with the text"CARLTON?" If I pick "CARLTON?" from the list (exact filtering enabled) it shows results for "CARLTON" instead.

I have tried using both CSV and xlsx formats.

Is this normal? If not, what is the solution?

    Thank you.

    HI Ken,
    Thank you for your purchase.

Can you please send me the file from which you created one of that tables so I can take a look and try to reproduce that issue on my side.

    Best regards.

    Kind Regards,

    Thanks Bogdan

I've run a test using exactly the same data on two different input types: (1) manual and (2) from existing data source. The filter is: Checkbox with exact filtering enabled.

When the data is entered manually in a table, there is no problem and the filter works as expected.

When using an existing data file "wpdatatables-test.xlsx" (attached) the filter does not return the proper data. When the data contains "( )" or "?" the results of the filter are incorrect; either picking a similar name or no matching data.

    Here are the results:

    CARELTON >>> CARELTON

    CARELTON? >>> CARELTON

    DISCOVERY >>> DISCOVERY

    DISCOVERY (TWO) >>> DISCOVERY TWO

    DISCOVERY TWO >>> DISCOVERY TWO

DONNACONA (CMR) >>> "No matching records found"

    SCOTIAN (St F X) >>> SCOTIAN St F X

    SCOTIAN St F X >>> SCOTIAN St F X

I appreciate your help with this. The actual database will have over 9,000 entries.

    Bogdan,

I have since changed to the MYSQL approach which solves all of the issues I mentioned. However the "+" character is not being accepted. Eg.: "ROUTP+" The column in the CVS file is set to the "General" format.

    Thanks

    Hi Bogan,

I created a very simple wp datatable using manual input and have found the same problem. This means the type of file being used is not an issue. With further testing, I have narrowed it down to this:

When the advanced filtering is set to "Multiselectbox" or "Checkbox" for a column, any selection chosen in the list that contains the + character (Eg. ACME+, BILL+) , will not be included in the results. Using the "Selectbox" filter where there is just a single choice, DOES works as expected. (Exact filtering has no affect, one way or the other)

This is now driving me crazy. Do you have any idea what the problem is? If you could try this yourself and tell me your results, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thank you

    Hi Ken,

There are some minor bugs with the multiselect, selectboxes and checkboxes that are in this version of plugin.

I forwarded your issue to my team so we can test it out and find a proper solution.

This bugs will fixed and it will be included in our next update of the plugin because we are working on it and some of the bugs are fixed for now.

Sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for understanding.

    Best regards.

    Hi Bogan,

Thank you for looking into this. It will be nice to have this working properly soon.

Thank you also for looking into adding the search function I mentioned in the other ticket. I believe strongly that this option will help to further set you apart from your competition.

    All the best.
